With over twenty-five years working in and with governments, businesses, and nonprofits, along with a Master's in Public Administration, Denise Dahl; Executive Director, leads Henry County CIC with a focus on maximizing measurable, positive outcomes in strategic, smart growth and community focused economic and community development.
With economic and community development experience throughout the nation, Ms. Dahl’s past experience includes hundreds of successful economic development projects. Additional experiences range from appointment by the Governor of Iowa to the State's Community Development & Tourism Commission to writing U.S. Senate Sub-Committee testimony regarding technology, and being involved in a wide range of pro-active strategic implementation efforts, including winning a statewide award for her part in facilitating a multi-entity government/nonprofit collaboration in downtown Virginia development.
Ms. Dahl has also been a professor at two different universities and taught international business, as well as nonprofit leadership, and has created university curriculum in grant writing, public administration and political science. She currently sits on the International Economic Development Council's Higher Education Committee. In addition, Ms. Dahl has been a member of numerous nonprofit boards and volunteered for numerous nonprofit agencies.
